Privacy Policy

Information we collect

Stacks does not require an account and does not ask for your name, email address, or contacts. The app uses the following Google Firebase services:

• Firebase Analytics — collects anonymous usage statistics such as app opens, screens viewed, device model, OS version, and country-level region. This helps us understand how the app is used and improve it.
• Firebase Crashlytics — collects crash reports, including device state and stack traces at the time of a crash, so we can fix bugs.

These services may use device identifiers (such as an app-instance ID) to aggregate data. See Google's Privacy Policy and Firebase Privacy and Security for details on how Google processes this data.

What we do not collect

• No personal information (name, email, phone number, contacts).
• No precise location data.
• Your search queries and downloads are processed to deliver the content you request; we do not build a profile of them or sell any data to third parties.

Third-party services

• Internet Archive (archive.org) — your search queries are sent to the Internet Archive to find content, and media is streamed directly from its servers. Your requests are subject to the Internet Archive's Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. We do not store your queries on any server of our own.
• Flud (torrent client) — Stacks does not download torrents itself. When you choose to download, the app checks whether the Flud app is installed on your device and, if so, passes the download link to it (or offers its Play Store page if it is not installed). This check is performed locally on your device and is not transmitted anywhere. Downloads then happen inside Flud, which is a separate app with its own privacy policy.

Permissions

• Notifications — used to show media playback controls. You can decline this permission and the app will still work.
• Internet — required to search and stream content.
• Foreground service & wake lock — keep audio/video playback running while the app is in the background or the screen is off.

Data storage

Stacks stores no personal library or history on any server. Media you stream is played directly from the source; any files you download are handled and stored by the Flud app on your device, under your control.

Children

Stacks is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Your responsibilities

Stacks is a general-purpose tool. You are responsible for ensuring that content you access or download does not infringe copyright or other laws in your jurisdiction.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
